Capital Internet was established in 1999 by Capital Investment Advisors, Inc. (CIA), an investment firm with nearly one billion dollars under management. The Web exploded on the scene in 1999 and CIA wanted to setup a server farm to facilitate transactions within its financial supply chain. At that time, however, there were few colocation facilities on the east coast. Thus, CIA established one of the very first Internet Data Centers in Georgia offering colocation services to businesses—Capital Internet.
In 2008, Capital Internet merged with NetStream Communications, LLC, a firm that provides carrier-class Metro Ethernet business solutions. The merger with NetStream extends the capability of Capital Internet offering customers even greater Quality of Service (QoS).
From the beginning, Capital Internet was a place where individuals and small businesses could rapidly colocate one or more servers with flexible and affordably service plans. More than 10 years later Capital Internet is still focused on providing small businesses the most economical solution for data center services.
Capital Internet's customers are web developers, telecommunications providers, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), Application Service Providers (SaaS), Managed Service Providers (MSPs), Database Administrators, e-commerce enablers and other Internet-based businesses that need to deploy rapidly to the network's edge.
